The movement toward private rooms for neonatal intensive care unit  babies has recently gained momentum, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. New research supports claims that infants may have better health outcomes in a single-family environment. A study reported that single-room infants fared better in terms of weight gain, the number of medical procedures required and the experience of physiological stress and pain, the article said.
