Because healthcare space is so specialized, its construction is more labor-intensive than other property types.
Newer designs will encourage a more collaborative atmosphere among the healthcare professionals who work there. But that is going to be hard to replicate in legacy facilities still in use, because healthcare facilities are hard to change once they are built, unless flexibility is built into the structure, the article said.
