Queens Medical Center-Hotel To Open in 2021

104,000-square-foot Eastern Mirage Medical Center is co-located with Eastern Mirage hotel

By Dan Hounsell

New healthcare construction projects that combine hospitals with upscale hotels are becoming more common as organizations bet on the growing demand for quieter alternatives to noisy, more spartan hospitals.

For example, the Eastern Mirage Medical Center in Flushing, Queens, is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2021, according to Healthcare Construction+Operations. The new 104,000-square-foot, 18-story mixed-use tower also will be home to the Eastern Mirage hotel, which will offer patients a private, restful place to stay and recover from appointments and procedures. Amenities include an indoor pool, spa, fitness center, meeting rooms and business center, as well as a Michelin-rated restaurant and bar.

Among the medical center’s integrated technological features are 5G fiber optics directly wired into each office and connected to the hotel, giving physicians a high-speed, uninterrupted connection from medical office to hotel suite. Facial and voice recognition security features for the center’s offices and elevators will create an almost touchless patient experience.
