Retail is a new driver in healthcare design, according to a blog by editor-in-chief, Kristin D Zeit, on the Healthcare Design website. Retail thinking suggests more urgency and salesmanship. It goes beyond meeting needs to anticipating, catering to and exceeding them by addressing overall wellness as opposed to case-by-case problem-solving, the blog said.  "For decades, we in healthcare believed that if we built it, patients would find their way to us. Now, the patient is in the driver’s seat,” said Dr. Avein Saaty-Tafoya, CEO of Adelante Healthcare.
