Rio Vista Behavioral Health Completes Construction on New Addition

This 52,000-square-foot addition has a pair of two-story behavioral hospital units.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) and Acadia Healthcare Company Inc. completed a new addition to Rio Vista Behavioral Health Hospital in El Paso, Texas.

The 52,000-square-foot addition includes a pair of newly constructed two-story behavioral hospital units, adding 40 inpatient beds, along with outdoor recreation spaces and a new ground-up one-story outpatient center. As part of the project, the team also renovated 5,000 square feet of the existing 12-bed facility and added 14,000 square feet of parking space. The hospital expansion kicked off construction in February 2022.

Acadia Healthcare, AP, Rio Vista Hospital, State of Texas representatives, local district representatives and El Paso city officials celebrated the project’s completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The AP project team and associated trade partners were recognized for their work on the completed project, which enables the hospital to care for more patients in and around El Paso.
