The new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital be the safest building on the East Coast, according to a project designer.

The building is designed to withstand up to 150 mile-an-hour winds sustained," Gopi Omraju said in an article on the ABC News4 website.

Omraju said the building is built to handle both a hurricane and an earthquake at the same time.

The building is built to safely sway in an earthquake, and would not only stay standing, but maintain power and water to continue treating patients.
