Schneider targets smaller healthcare facilities for energy management

Schneider Electric says its SmartStruxure Lite building automation system is tailored for the needs of outpatient healthcare facilities to achieve energy efficiency goals.

In early 2014, Schneider first launched SmartStruxure Lite as a building management system designed for small- and medium-sized buildings less than 100,000 square feet, including retail stores, offices, hotels, schools and healthcare clinics.

Schneider now says SmartStruxure Lite is ideal for many of the buildings that house today’s off-site healthcare facilities. The system uses Schneider’s application-specific room controllers and integrated building management system to address the unique needs of these smaller healthcare facilities. It also assists facility managers with meeting healthcare regulations.

SmartStruxure Lite leverages open standards to integrate new and existing building infrastructure information for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, energy and more into a single interface. The solution offers programmable control and intelligent management using StruxureWare Building Expert software, a web interface available without a license fee, for outpatient facilities.
