ScriptDrop and PDX Partner to Implement Scalable, In‐Workflow Prescription Delivery

ScriptDrop, Inc. and PDX, Inc. announced a partnership that will help pharmacists easily schedule prescription deliveries for their patients by connecting them to ScriptDrop's nationwide network of professional couriers. Through this integration, pharmacists can electronically request prescription deliveries directly within their Enterprise Pharmacy System™ (EPS) workflow.

A recent survey indicated 37 percent of patients reported leaving a prescription at the pharmacy due to "inconvenience."(1) Reasons for this abandonment range from lack of transportation to the pharmacy or being too ill to pick it up. A reliable prescription delivery solution can ensure patients have a way to receive their needed medication as quickly as possible.

"Providing a secure and efficient delivery service is critical for pharmacies to be able to offer additional convenience for their patients," said Daniel Dalton, Manager of Pharmacy Solutions at ScriptDrop. "We're looking forward to innovating and improving the prescription delivery process with PDX."

EPS system users now have the following functionality:

  • Ability to electronically request on‐demand prescription deliveries
  • Direct connection to a trusted courier network
  • Easy‐to‐use functionality that can help decrease medication abandonment and increase pharmacy bottom line

"This partnership with ScriptDrop will allow for PDX pharmacies to easily connect with professional couriers to request a delivery," said Jeff Farris, CEO, PDX. "It will provide them with a secure and compliant way to deliver medications directly to the patient's front door."

The integrated functionality will also ensure pharmacies, like Albertsons Companies, continue to help their valued pharmacists and staff by making the delivery process simpler and providing more clarity at the point of dispensing.

"Patient trust is at the core of our pharmacies, and we're excited to benefit from the partnership between PDX and ScriptDrop," said Mark Panzer, Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Health & Wellness/General Merchandise at Albertsons Companies. "This solution will allow Albertsons to easily scale our delivery service nationwide and continue to provide the best care possible."
