Silverstone Senior Living Breaks Ground on $75 million Virginia Community

Dallas-based Silverstone Senior Living kicked off construction on a $75 million senior living community, bringing 124 assisted living and 30 memory care apartments to Metro West, a major mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Fairfax County, Va.

Located at 9490 Sprague Avenue, the new eight-story, 158,000-square-foot senior living community will be built across a 1.4-acre parcel purchased by Silverstone from Pulte last year and is slated for completion in 2021.

“We are pleased to be a part of Metro West and offer another residential option to this exciting master-planned community,” said Bobby Zeiller, chief development officer and head of the D.C. office of Silverstone, who will lead the company’s expansion into the D.C. region. “Our communities offer residents boutique-style living with unsurpassed amenities and activities.”

Silverstone Fairfax will feature formal, private and casual dining venues, a wellness and fitness center, a full-service salon, a community activity room, creative art studio and game room. Three outdoor terraces will be available for assisted living residents, including a rooftop terrace. Memory care residents will have their own secure terrace and outdoor seating. Residents will enjoy exceptional hospitality with lifestyle programs, services and activities designed to enrich and enhance their daily experience.

The Fairfax location is one of three communities that Silverstone will start construction on in 2019. In June, the company plans to start on a $76-million community in Rockville, Md. By the end of the year, Silverstone will begin construction on a $100-million community in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard adjacent to the future Virginia Tech Innovation Center and near Amazon’s second headquarters in Crystal City.

Once complete, these three properties will add to Silverstone’s portfolio of high-end senior living communities built across Texas and Florida as well as a 154-unit community that opened in Woodbridge, Va., last year.
