Solar power can transform healthcare in India

Solar systems at rural healthcare centers improving healthcare delivery

Solar systems at healthcare centers in rural Chhattisgarh shows that renewable energy can play a vital role in improving healthcare delivery, according to an article on the India Climate Dialogue website.

Primary health centers in Chhattisgarh powered by solar panels catered to 50 percent more patients than centers that did not have similar installations, the article said.

The study found that solar-powered healthcare facilities could significantly improve in-patient and outpatient services, emergency care, delivery services, and laboratory services in rural India.
