T&S wins South Carolina State Manufacturing Award for Excellence

T&S Brass, a global plumbing equipment manufacturer based in South Carolina, today received the Transformation and Operations Excellence Award at the 2019 Salute to Manufacturing Awards.

The award, for companies with more than 100 employees, was presented by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster as part of the annual South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo.

The Transformational and Operations Excellence Award honors a company that demonstrates real-world, bottom line results achieved through the adoption of continuous improvement and operational excellence tools and techniques.

“From our founding more than 70 years ago, T&S has been committed to becoming and remaining a leader in quality manufacturing,” said Claude Theisen, T&S Brass president and CEO. “We are proud to be recognized for the hard work of our entire team, whose dedication makes this kind of recognition possible.”

T&S demonstrates its commitment to ongoing improvement in a variety of ways, including the development of associate-driven Continuous Improvement Teams that lead efforts to improve safety, quality and productivity throughout the plant. More than 25 projects have been completed by the cross-functional teams, which have involved 40% of the T&S workforce.

T&S Brass is a past recipient of the Silver Crescent Award, South Carolina’s top manufacturing honor, and two-time honoree as South Carolina Manufacturer of the Year by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

A leading manufacturer of faucets, fittings and specialty products for the foodservice, industrial, commercial plumbing and laboratory markets, T&S has made its home in South Carolina since 1978.
