The new 42,500-square-foot Florida Hospital Tampa emergency room includes 48 private rooms defined, equipped and assigned according to the person’s specific level of illness or injury, be it minor, serious or critical, according to an article on the Tampa Bay Online website.
Pediatric patients will be treated in one of the facility’s seven rooms specially equipped with soft lighting and a wall screen featuring a selection of animated scenes of the child’s choice.
There are four isolation rooms in which the air is constantly filtered and an observation area where patients are cared for while awaiting test results and/or follow-up instructions prior to being discharged.
“We are the only hospital in the area with this type of care and we think it is going to change the way people think about coming to the emergency room,” Florida Hospital Tampa President and CEO Brian Adams said.
