Extreme threats, violence lead to a Violence Summit with Health Minister


Daily threats of sexual and physical violence to emergency room staff, their loved ones, and even their unborn children are common in Western Australia emergency rooms, according to an article on the WA Today website.

Doctors, nurses and security staff have long called for action to tackle the increasingly violent and aggressive behavior, saying it was being normalized.

Now, the Australian government has called a Violence Summit with the Health Minister

It comes as a new survey of hospital staff found 80 per cent had experienced or witnessed a violent incident at work.
