Trex Commercial Products Adds Customizable Features to Popular Railing Systems

From sports arenas and shopping malls to hotels and healthcare settings, today’s commercial spaces call for distinctive, one-of-a-kind design elements that combine the functional needs of the building with the architect’s vision. With this in mind, Trex Commercial Products, a national leader in engineering and manufacturing ornamental railing systems for commercial building applications, has re-engineered two of its popular railing systems – Equinox and Monaco – to offer more customizable features.

“Today’s commercial spaces aren’t one-size-fits-all but, too often, architects and designers find themselves limited by the design options available for commercial glass railing systems,” said John Lewis, president and CEO of Trex Commercial Products. “By offering customizable options with our Equinox and Monaco glass railing systems, there’s no need to compromise on style – or substance.”

Sleek Sophisticated Style

The defined, clean lines of the Equinox Railing System amplify the best features of glass railing with an innovative rod-and-disc assembly that features zero visible fasteners. Featuring the strength and sleek, modern aesthetic of premium stainless steel, the Equinox system offers a variety of post, top rail and handrail options, creating even more distinct design possibilities. The result is a contemporary space that is truly one-of-a-kind.

Further distinguishing Equinox are its unique stainless steel rod-and-disc assemblies, which attach through the glass panels. The minimalist design gives the illusion of a solid system – but with the flexibility of individual component selection. Equinox is a popular choice for educational and healthcare settings, as it allows for maximum natural light.

Strength Meets Simplicity

An adaptable design, the Monaco Railing System from Trex Commercial Products is an economical railing solution for high-traffic commercial settings. This classic, simple system uses sleek stainless steel clamps to mount the glass infill, for a barely-there appearance.

Like Equinox, this system is now available with a variety of design options. Specifiers can choose from either square or D-shaped stainless steel clamps, as well as round, square or rectangle posts.

Rubber isolator discs inside the clamps prevent glass infill from touching metal and provide vibration dampening. Monaco railing also can adapt to the rake of any stair, and can be used with radius applications, as well as fascia-mounted applications.

“We understand that today’s architects and designers want the simplicity of pre-engineered railings, with the design possibilities offered by customized systems,” Lewis added. “These updates to the Equinox and Monaco Railing Systems deliver on both counts, with trusted, popular glass railing offerings that now feature greater design flexibility.”
