Troubled Aurora VA hospital on track to open in 2018

The project is now 78 percent complete and officials say the facility has overcome its cost issues


The troubled Aurora VA hospital is on track to open in 2018, according to an article on the Aurora Sentinel website.

The project is now 78 percent complete and officials say the facility has overcome its cost issues.

In June, Army Corps of Engineers officials said they were looking for ways to save money since taking over construction management from the VA last year. 

Imported Brazilian wood was removed from the original design and a planned $10 million landscaping scheme was reduced to $2 million.
