Trusted Network Accreditation Program (TNAP) Collaborative Launches Surveyto Identify Issues with the Interoperable Exchange of Healthcare Data

The Trusted Network Accreditation Program (TNAP) collaborative, developed to promote interoperability by assuring the security and privacy of trusted networks, today announced the release of a five-question survey. The survey was designed to help gather input related to the interoperable exchange of healthcare data from industry stakeholders. This is especially important in light of the recent release of the second version of the Office for the National Coordinator's Trusted Exchange Framework draft.

"We will continue the much-needed focus on interoperability and ensure the creation of a trusted environment where privacy and security requirements are maintained," said Lee Barrett, Executive Director and CEO of EHNAC, one of the organizations that leads the initiative. "Now is the time for our industry to work together to close privacy and security gaps across networks, address vulnerabilities across HIPAA compliance, cyber protection and ransomware prevention, address authentication and ID verification issues all the while assuring the highest levels of stakeholder trust."

With the goal of providing third-party accreditation for healthcare stakeholders including health information networks (HINs), health information exchanges (HIEs), accountable care organizations (ACOs), data registries, payers, providers, vendors and others, TNAP will focus on assuring identify verification and authentication of stakeholders that will utilize the "digital exchange highway" as well as support blockchain, GDPR, cloud and other underlying enabling technologies.

Ahead of the release of their survey, the TNAP collaborative recently launched a new website where industry stakeholders can find news and information surrounding the collaborative along with the latest regulatory updates. For more information visit https://trustednetworkap.org/.
