UK hospital security equipped with body cameras

If they begin to record an incident, they must first announce they are recording


Security staff at UK hospital systems South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust and City Hospitals Sutherland NHS Foundation Trust in England are now wearing body cameras, according to an article on the Campus Life Security website.

Staff wearing the cameras will operate the equipment in stand-by mode when patrolling.

If they begin to record an incident, they must first announce they are recording. 

South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust officials said the hospitals already have CCTV systems but the use of the body-cams can act as a deterrent to crime.
