University Health and PAM Health Collaborate to Expand Rehabilitation Services in San Antonio

The partnership allows University Health’s rehabilitation footprint to expand to three different locations.

By HFT Staff

University Health and PAM Health announced a collaboration to expand access for patients discharged from University Hospital who need inpatient rehabilitation services. Through a joint venture, a University Health subsidiary and PAM Health will share ownership of three PAM Health rehabilitation hospitals in San Antonio, including: PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio, located inside the South Texas Medical Center; PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital Westover Hills, and PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital Northeast San Antonio.

Through this partnership, University Health’s inpatient rehabilitation footprint will expand from one location inside University Hospital to three specialized rehabilitation hospitals geographically distributed across the community, enabling even more patients to receive rehabilitation services closer to home. University Health’s Reeves Rehabilitation Center will maintain eight inpatient rehabilitation beds inside University Hospital for patients who are ready to begin rehabilitation but still might require additional acute care services.

Under the terms of the agreement, PAM Health will continue to manage day-to-day operations of the three hospitals. University Health is a minority partner, with representation on the Post-Acute Medical at San Antonio, LLC board of directors.
