Utah building new assisted-care living facility for baby boomers

Project to marry affordable housing with healthcare

Logan, Utah, has approved the construction of an assisted living facility, despite the abundance of similar housing, according to an article on the HJNews website.

The new assisted care living facility, despite the presumed abundance of others throughout the area, centers on appealing to the post-World War II baby boom generation.

“There are 10,000 people a day turning 65 and older,” Stan Klos, head of Rocky Mountain Care Assisted Living, said. “Typically in that market, everyone is going after the private-pay or low-income housing. We’re trying to go with affordable assisted living to give people an option to live and have their services provided if they elect to.”

In contrast to other facilities that solely seek to provide the elderly with affordable housing prices, Klos said the new facility will provide people with a service that is affordable and “health-oriented and service driven by their needs.”
