Roanoke Memorial Hospital is swapping out all 42,000 light fixtures, a process that’ll take until October to complete, according to an article on The Roanoke Times website.
The project is part of efforts to reduce energy consumption by 10 percent.
Once the project is completed, the hospital is expected to reduce its electricity consumption by nearly 4 million kilowatt hours each year.
The hospital’s electric bill has already fallen 3.4 percent since the installation began.
