Copley Hospital in Morrisville, Vt., needed a new way to clean its 300 loads of laundry after learning its laundry vendor was closing, according to the Health Facilities Management website.
The hospital goes through 6,000 pounds of laundry in one week.
Although Copley owns its linens and does have a commercial washer and dryer on-site to supplement, it used a vendor to wash, dry, fold and deliver the bulk of its laundry.
Following the vendor announcement, the hospital rented a commercial-grade laundry trailer from a vendor in Maryland who drove the trailer up to the campus.
