A group of volunteers from Columbia, Mo., are going to the Bahamas to help rebuild medical facilities, according to an article on the 13KRCG website.
MU Health Care Physician Adam Beckett of Columbia’s University Hospital is leading a group of five who will be providing healthcare, community development and disaster relief after Hurricane Dorian.
One of Beckett’s volunteers will pilot a prop plane carrying supplies and volunteers to an island in the Bahamas. Other volunteers had construction backgrounds and planned to help with rebuilding efforts.
Beckett’s volunteers planned to leave for the Bahamas on Sept. 29 and work there until Oct. 3.
