W.Va. hospital increasing security after shooting

In August, a man shot and killed himself in an emergency room at the hospital

Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, W.Va., continues to ramp up security measures after a man shot and killed himself in the emergency room in August, according to the WTOV9 website.

Since the incident, the first move was to bring in more law enforcement. The hospital now has Wheeling Police Department staff in the ER.

The hospital is also considering limiting access after hours.

The hospital is also looking into emergency room metal detectors. The hospital previously would ask people if they had weapons on them.
