Tacoma General Hospital security dog expected to prevent assaults, help patients
Tacoma General Hospital's new security dog was added to the staff to prevent assaults and help patients, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.
In three months, security dog, "Officer Ben," has answered over 300 calls, found illegal drugs 76 times and de-escalated close to 80 potentially abusive situations.
Ben will also visit sick children who could use a friend.
During a normal shift, Ben will check restrooms, the perimeter and the sidewalks of the hospital.
