Waste, safety concerns cited at Aurora VA hospital project

Ambulances cannot access all of the site, and new materials re being thrown away, according to a worker

A construction worker inside the VA Hospital construction site in Aurora is speaking out about wasted money and safety concerns, according to an article on the Denver Channel website.

"I see tons of money being wasted," the worker said in the article. "I see very high dollar items that are getting backfilled by dirt, just because that's the design. I've seen dumpsters full of brand new materials thrown away because nobody would claim it."

The worker also said safety is being compromised. The rain has made the roads inside the site so muddy, he said ambulances cannot access all of the site, in an emergency. He also said the port-a-potty cleaning truck can't access the portable toilets because of the mud.
