WattStopper introduces wireless exterior lighting controls for code compliance

WattStopper's new exterior lighting controls enable facility managers to easily automate and manage outdoor lighting to maximize safety and security while optimizing energy efficiency. The solution is scalable and built on open standards including 6LoWPAN and BACnet, ensuring maximum flexibility for cost-effective wireless outdoor lighting control and integration with existing systems.

WattStopper's exterior lighting controls can reduce operating costs by up to 30 percent and are ideal for a wide range of commercial site, parking and pathway lighting. In addition to energy savings, WattStopper's exterior lighting controls help design professionals meet, and even exceed, energy code requirements.

The solution includes distributed fixture-mounted control nodes that operate independently or as part of a network. And when connected to a network, they deliver real-time data including energy information, alerts and failure alarms – providing remote monitoring to reduce maintenance costs.

Products comprising the exterior lighting controls suite include:

Wireless Network Manager and Supervisor : scalable hardware and software designed to manage exterior lighting control networks.

BULIT® Wireless Control Node : an intelligent controller replacing standard photocell control modules and providing scheduled control.

Wireless Input/Output Control Nodes : intelligent devices that connect a wide variety of sensors, switches and other devices to a wireless lighting control network.

New capabilities include wireless connectivity via self-healing IP network, cellular connectivity and voltage, current and power factor reporting. Additional features and benefits include: full range 0-10 volt dimming control, connection via NEMA standard ANSI C136.41-2013 twist-lock, compatibility with secure, web-enabled building automation systems, and initiation of self-contained astronomic and scheduled control events so lighting schedules continue on course should the network go down.

WattStopper's exterior lighting controls will be featured in the WattStopper and Vantage booth #802 at LIGHTFAIR® International in New York, May 5-7, 2015.
