Yost Grube Hall Architecture shows off its social sustainability

Yost Grube Hall Architecture is the 15th firm in the nation, and the first firm in Portland, Oregon, to become a JUST organization. The International Living Future Institute’s™ JUST™ program is a voluntary disclosure program and tool rating a firm’s social justice and equity based off of specific and measurable accountabilities.

“In a relatively short timeframe since program launch, the JUST Program has garnered worldwide interest and is helping organizations develop better employee engagement policies and community stewardship practices. We are delighted that Yost Grube Hall Architecture joins the ranks of JUST labeled organizations with the distinction of being the first design firm in Oregon State to earn the JUST Label.” said Francis Janes, JUST Program Manager, International Living Future Institute.

The firm submitted documentation on written policies and data on a range of organization and employee-related indicators. JUST™ program administrators then aggregate this information to create a “nutrition label”. Firms are measured in six broad categories: 1) Diversity, 2) Equity, 3) Safety, 4) Worker Benefit, 5) Local Benefit and 6) Stewardship with subcategories for each of the broader headers. A firm can earn as high as a “Three Star Level” in any of evaluation areas.

YGH is proud to be a JUST™ organization as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and transparency and continues to strive for a more equitable community.

YGH is also a City of Portland Sustainability at Work Gold certified business, a member of the US Green Building Council, a member of the Center for the Built Environment and has been named to Oregon Magazine’s 100 Best Green Companies each year the firm has participated in the survey.
