Sixty percent of healthcare organizations have a senior executive overseeing cybersecurity

Survey shows differences in the cybersecurity programs when there's a chief information security officer


Healthcare providers that have a dedicated information security executive are more likely to adopt an holistic approach to security, according to an article on the Fierce Healthcare website.

Sixty percent of healthcare organizations have a senior executive who oversees cybersecurity, according to a new survey released by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

The survey also shows differences in the cybersecurity programs when there's a chief information security officer (CISO.)

Eighty-eight percent of organizations with a CISO conducted cybersecurity due diligence prior to purchasing new technology, compared to 57 percent of organizations without one.
