Creating design unity in healthcare mergers

Combining systems, facilities creates interior design challenges


With an increase in healthcare mergers and acquisitions, interior designers now must examine economies of scale, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

Designers also must deal with norms required by several partners or owners.  

After a merger or acquisition, redundancies need to be identified to streamline workflows, the article said.

When there is national acquisition, healthcare facilities need to be tailored to the geographic areas they serve. Materials indigenous to the locations of the healthcare structures are important.
