Former Silicon Labs Executive Appointed Chief Technology Officer of RF Code

RF Code, a SaaS provider of real-time operational intelligence (RTOI) for physical asset lifecycle management and environmental monitoring in data centers, today announced the addition of Peter Vancorenland, PhD to the position of Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Dr. Vancorenland will be responsible for pioneering the architectures of RF Code’s next generation platforms, including the incorporation of both data analytics and advanced wireless sensor networks.

Vancorenland brings a wide variety of software and hardware expertise to his new position at RF Code. He joins the company after a distinguished career at Silicon Labs, where he was most recently Vice President of IoT Engineering. Among his duties in this capacity, Vancorenland led the engineering team for the IoT Business Unit and was responsible for R&D, IoT product development, custom software applications, hardware tools, and customer engineering and support. Vancorenland received his MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium where he worked on RF CMOS semiconductor technologies and advanced how wireless devices are designed today. He also holds 23 patents spanning a variety of technical fields.

“RF Code has been at the forefront of full-stack IoT solutions, employing scalable sensor networks, data gathering software, and applications software. It has grown into a credible first-tier supplier to many of the largest data centers in the world today,” said Vancorenland. “The company’s innovative perspective on data center operations and IT has shaped how the industry utilizes real-time automated physical asset management and environmental monitoring technology. I’m excited to join the RF Code team and to help build on the success that RF Code has enjoyed to date.”

“Data centers are the backbone of the global economy, powering businesses, organizing communications, and delivering online consumer services. Managing the physical data center from the assets within to their environment in real-time and across the globe requires advanced automation platforms,” said Ed Healy, CEO of RF Code. “Over his career, Peter has been instrumental in developing wireless sensor networks and IoT software solutions across many vertical applications. As RF Code shapes the future of how data centers adopt sensor networks, automation and migration to the Cloud, his experience will be invaluable.”

Earlier this year, RF Code announced a company benchmark: over 125,000 data center racks are now under management worldwide through its CenterScape solution. As a result, over one million enterprise IT assets and hundreds of thousands of environmental sensors are being continuously monitored for safety and security while simultaneously offering critical information on how to increase efficiency and reliability in data centers and colocation facilities.
