N.Y. healthcare facility to create 'medical village'

Glens Falls Hospital awarded nearly $20 million for expansion

Glens Falls Hospital in Glen Falls, N.Y., will use a $19.95 million, grant to create a “medical village,” according to an article on the Post Star website.

The grant will fund the construction of an outpatient health facility, including a new emergency department.

The medical village concept focuses on bringing together a wide range of outpatient medical services in one location. It is also designed for easier access and coordination of patient care and making it easier for healthcare providers to communicate with each other.

The expansion will also give the hospital a chance to make other changes including shrinking the campus to make it more efficient.
