Nearly a year after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed spending $700 million to rebuild Brooklyn's struggling Brookdale Hospital the money remains unspent, according to the Politico website.
The plan didn't specify whether the new hospital would be a brand new full-service one or a scaled-down version that would work with neighboring hospitals.
Those details remain unclear because no one has stepped up to build the hospital.
The current Brooklyn hospitals can't survive without enormous state subsidies.
