1,000-bed field hospital in Boston accepting coronavirus patients

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center transformed to temporary medical space


A 1,000-bed field hospital set up at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center has begun accepting patients, according to an article on the WHDH website.

Partners HealthCare will lead clinical care efforts at the field medical station. The makeshift facility will be called “Boston HOPE.”

Another field hospital at the DCU Center in Worcester started taking virus patients.

The Boston  field medical station will have 500 beds reserved for individuals infected with coronavirus and 500 will provide shelter for the homeless population.
