40 states report flu activity

The proportion of outpatient visits for influenzalike illness increased slightly


In the week ending Nov. 3, 40 states reported sporadic influenza activity, according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website.

Two states reported regional activity; six states reported local flu activity; and two states reported no activity, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The proportion of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness increased slightly to 1.8 percent, below the national baseline of 2.2 percent. 

One of 10 regions reported influenza-like illness at or above their region-specific baseline level.
