71 percent of healthcare organizations have a cybersecurity budget

Survey shows healthcare organizations are enhancing their cybersecurity programs


A cybersecurity survey from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) found that healthcare organizations are enhancing their cybersecurity programs, according to an article on the Healthcare Informatics website.

Most of the organizations surveyed (71 percent) have specific budgets for cybersecurity. Eighty percent of the organizations have a dedicated cybersecurity staff.

Of the respondents who knew the percent of their organization’s budget allocated for cybersecurity, 60 percent said cybersecurity received 3 percent or more. 

Eight percent of respondents indicated that no funds have been allocated for cybersecurity.
