Long-Term Living article explores virtual skylights for senior healthcare facilities


For older long-term care facilities, physical updates and innovations are important in a competitive marketplace in which seniors have many living choices, according to an article on the Long-Term Living magazine's website. Michael Palmieri of Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord, N.H., found a solution in the “Luminous SkyCeiling,” a virtual skylight that uses light and photographic technology to create a realistic effect. The skylight adds a natural ambience to a windowless area and also helps with wayfinding, according to Palmieri.
