The Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., revived a stalled construction project after a 10-year break, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
The facility’s original owners were forced to abandon the project in 2003 mid-construction because of legal issues.
After a 10-year break, Community Health Systems took over ownership and continued construction, building a replacement facility to its Trinity Medical Center.
The original facility was designed as a rehabilitation hospital, so much of the previously completed work had to be demolished or renovated, the article said.
