A Brigham and Women’s Hospital security guard checks for smokers while making rounds on his bikes, according to an article on the Boston Globe website
The guard caught 300 people smoking on the Brigham’s property in his first month, and another 260 the next.
He hands out smoking “tickets,” small cards asking smokers not to light up within 30 feet of campus and offering guidance on kicking the habit.
The security guards do not hand out fines.
