BlazeMaster fire sprinkler systems boost efficiency, cost-effectiveness with updated listing

CLEVELAND – Good news for contractors: BlazeMaster® Fire Sprinkler Systems’ listing for use in exposed basement application has been revised, offering enhanced design flexibility and greater convenience.

BlazeMaster’s UL Listing has been updated so that the requirements for solid wood match the requirements of the composite listing for unfinished basements. The critical changes for solid wood are the following:

• Increased maximum sprinkler spacing  along the joists from 12 to 16 feet

• Increased maximum sprinkler spacing across the joists from 12 to 14 feet

• Increased joist spacing from 16 to 24 inches

• Increased maximum ceiling height from 8 to 10 feet

All of these changes enable additional design flexibility for installers, boosting the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of a BlazeMaster system installation—all without sacrificing performance.

“This update is further proof that BlazeMaster systems are listed and approved for more applications than any other non-metallic system,” said Mark Knurek, regional market manager, Lubrizol CPVC. “This listing is exclusive to BlazeMaster and is a testament to BlazeMaster as maintaining the highest pipe and fitting cell classes in the industry. It’s just one of the many advantages our brand can offer.”
