If the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo becomes more serious, international public health experts should consider the possibility that the Ebola outbreak can't be brought under control, according to an official at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
If Ebola containment efforts fail in the Congo, it would mark the first time the virus was not stopped since 1976, when it was first identified, an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website reported.
The current Ebola outbreak is going on its fourth month, with 300 cases and 186 deaths as of Nov. 4.
