Calif. rehab facility adds wellness center

Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center undertaking $418 million construction and renovation project


Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center is undertaking a $418 million construction and renovation project that is beginning with a new wellness center, according to an article on the Health Facility Management website.

The new 12,186-square-foot wellness center includes a gym with accessible exercise machines and will offer a variety of classes and activities for patients, caregivers and community members of different abilities.

“The wellness center and other features of Rancho Rising 2020 reflect a new model for the future, one that empowers patients to stay at home, be active in their communities, while enabling the use of self-directed rehabilitation tools and treatments,” according to a facility representative.

The project will also include a new centralized entrance, wayfinding tower and a central plaza with a series of interconnected gardens.
