Systems looking to offer convenient,lower-cost alternatives


Three California health systems are experimenting with virtual office visits as a way to offer convenient,lower-cost alternatives to tradition care, according to an article on the Hospitals and Health Networks website.

At Stanford Health Care has developed an app and a soon-to-be-released Web portal to give patients the option of choosing a video visit 

Dignity Health's telemedicine initiative helps to alleviate the challenges faced by a shortage of specialists in rural areas. 

Kaiser Permanente began offering video visits to shorten wait times and  improve access as well as the patient experience.
