In an article on the Healthcare Design magazine website, Managing Editor Jennifer Kovacs Silvis discusses connecting design of healthcare campuses to overall population health. According to Jason Harper, senior medical planner and associate principal at Perkins+Will, the idea has been around for awhile. "Organizations around the country are reconsidering the campus planning of old in favor of models that place their facilities as anchors of communities rather than outliers, opening doors to neighbors and supporting healthy initiatives," Silvis wrote.
