Ontario-area hospitals are focusing on security in response to a fatal police shooting at Guelph General Hospital after a woman was attacked, according to an article on The Record website.
The Ontario Nurses' Association said in a news release "enough is enough." It called on Guelph General to start taking safety seriously.
"This past year we increased security at the hospital in response to concerns raised by our staff," St. Mary's General Hospital spokesperson Anne Kelly said.
"Security guards are on duty 24/7 and one is posted at all times at the entrance to the emergency department except in emergency situations elsewhere in the hospital, where a guard must respond.
