Chattanooga hospital brings playground inside

Erlanger Children's Hospital Outpatient Center installs trucks for children to explore

Erlanger Children's Hospital Outpatient Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., has added two real trucks to an indoor play area, according to an article on the Modern Healthcare website.

A restored purple 1941 tow truck along with a modified engine cab from the Chattanooga Fire Department have new homes in the outpatient center.

Getting the trucks into a building under construction was no easy task, the article said. The vehicles were hoisted on a large platform by crane to upper floors.

Each floor of the hospital will be themed and include interactive discovery centers.

The official opening date is set for Dec. 17.
