Chicago area flooding, power outage force evacuation of hospital

Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital transferred 70 patients to nearby facilities after losing power


Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, Ill., transfered 70 patients to nearby facilities due to flooding and a power outage, according to an article on the ABC7 website.

The hospital worked with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Lake Forest Fire Department to transfer the patients to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and other nearby facilities.

The hospital said that ComEd restored power to the hospital hours later but the hospital was closed to clinical operation the next day.

Some nearby areas received six to seven inches of rain and thousands of people were left without power.
