Cintas Adds to Zero Waste Achievements with TRUE Certification at Dallas Distribution Center

Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced that its distribution center in Dallas has received Gold under the TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) Zero Waste certification system administered by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). Since Cintas launched its waste reduction initiatives in 2013, it has had seven distribution locations certified.

“This certification is an honor for our Dallas location, which has made great strides toward Cintas’s corporate goal to shrink its ecological footprint,” said Valerie Dodge, Dallas DC Manager, Cintas. “Our team has worked very hard to foster a zero-waste culture and identify ways to increase recycling and repurposing of materials.”

The Dallas distribution center was awarded the TRUE Zero Waste certification because the facility strategically diverts at least 90 percent of its waste stream from landfill, incineration, and the environment; has a zero waste policy in place; and met the TRUE Zero Waste certification requirements over the past 12 months.

Looking ahead, Cintas is preparing for certifications at its Chicago distribution center and a new location in the Columbus region. Cintas also plans to incorporate a model of its zero-waste-to-landfill program at its rental laundry plants and rental locations to further limit the amount of waste produced and sent to landfill.

“With this latest certification, Cintas has once again proven its dedication to manage waste responsibly across its distribution centers,” said Stephanie Barger, Director, Market Transformation & Development, TRUE Zero Waste Program. “The Dallas location is another testament to the impact that organizations can make when they commit to rethinking the resource life cycle.”
