A short circuit in basement wiring knocked out the power at a Cleveland Clinic building, according to an article on the Cleveland.com website.
Emergency generation and emergency circuits switched on but patient appointments were canceled for the rest of the day.
The failure occurred at 1:30 p.m. Crews completed repairs over the afternoon and power was restored at 5:45 p.m.
The affected facility was an outpatient building containing doctors' offices and procedure rooms for some minor surgeries.
