Columbus Surge Hospital In Storage For Now

The hospital at the Greater Columbus Convention Center has been disassembled

About $3.3 million has been spent to date on setting up and subsequently storing cots and other equipment for the surge hospital in the Greater Columbus Convention Center  in Ohio, according to an article on the Columbus Dispatch website.

About five months ago, Franklin County officials transformed part of the Greater Columbus Convention Center into a 1,200-bed field hospital.

Now, much of the equipment is shrink-wrapped on pallets in storage at the convention center and could be moved into warehousing space in coming months, close enough to quickly be reassembled.

Georgia had to reopen the temporary hospital at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta when Covid-19 cases surge, according to an article on the Decaturish website.
