Conn. healthcare facility gets energy-savings makeover

Connecticut Valley Hospital to get a 1.5 megawatt co-generation system


Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown is getting an energy-savings makeover, according to an article on the Hartford Business website.

The $32 million project at the state-owned facility is expected to pay for itself over time through a 15-year performance contract with Noresco. 

If the results aren't achieved, Noresco would be required to pay the state.

The project will include two new miles of steam pipe, a 1.5 megawatt co-generation system for the property's power plant, new boilers, LED lighting and other upgrades.
